Nereida Apaza Mamani

Nereida Apaza Mamani is a graduate of the Carlos Baca Flor School of Art. Her proposal is presented through various techniques such as sculpture, artist’s notebooks, video art, painting and engraving. Her individual exhibitions include “Vivir” en el C.C. Peruvian North American (2019), “Time is a myth” in the CC.... Chaves de la Rosa (Arequipa 2018), “The children’s fire” at the Santo Domingo-Qoricancha Convent Museum (Cusco, 2010), “The heart of a bird” at the North American Peruvian Cultural Center (Arequipa), “Sin La Rosa No Hacemos Nada “at the Juan Pardo Heeren Gallery. ICPNA – Lima, and “Dialectic of peace: intervention in public space” (Arequipa, 2009). Her animated short film “Secret history” was one of the winners in the SWOT contest for experimental works (2019). She obtained the first prize in the national painting competition of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (2012), the first place in the National Watercolor Salon ICPNA (2008), the second place in the X Passport Contest for an Artist of the Embassy of France (2017). In November 2019, she was invited to do a residency at the British Museum in order to investigate its collection of pre-Columbian textiles.
