Synopsis
Kira Carpelan is a psychological experiment, an art project, a documentary film but also the name of a 32-year-old female artist. When the internationally well established Swedish artist Miriam Bäckström was offered a solo exhibition at the Färgfabriken gallery in Stockholm two years ago, she decided to make her younger colleague, Kira Carpelan, become her 'work'. Kira Carpelan was given full access to Bäckström's workshop, private notes, and even diaries, as well as a carte blanche to stage the exhibition any way she wanted, Bäckström on the other hand was given full access to document the entire process on film.
